I’m Frank Priegue, a forty-something runner and blogger living in Queens with my wife Esther and our dog Chico. I like to keep active. I run, ride bikes, cycling, implies a skill level I don’t possess, although we’ve ridden several bike tours. Swimming is a work in progress. I’m up for most things active.
To date we’ve run 19 marathons, eleven for Esther and eight for me. We run with a group of friends calling ourselves Team Never Quit. We are not the fastest, some of us are back of the pack runners — I’m a back of the middle of the pack runner myself. We don’t do this to win races — we do it because we enjoy it. It’s a great way to stay healthy and maintain one’s sanity — although the sanity of signing up for some of these events has been questioned more than once.
Like many people my age I have issues with my weight — I gain it too easily. I keep active to keep my weight under control — I blog about my exploits to motivate others as others have motivated me. I’m not a super athlete — I’m just an average guy. Although the rides and races seem like tremendous tasks to some, they aren’t. If I can do them anyone can. I’m not saying you have to run a marathon or ride a fifty or sixty mile bike tour — maybe you want to try something new.
